How are you doing? I hope you are well. I am alright. I feel very behind on work, but eh. Over the weekend we went to an island in Berlin and that was a pretty cool thing. There are tons of places in Berlin that people just hang out, which is good because all I’m good at is hanging out. Since it was pretty far from where we live, I had a chance to take my new bike on a long ride (>1 hour) and it was great.

Ólafur has had some algorithmic pianos created that play tons of notes based on the few notes he provides to drive the software. The sound is so full and so impossible. His new album is coming out later in the month which I assume will be full of songs using this new instrument. I def recommend listening to this Tiny Desk while working or just relaxing. I aspire to eventually write software that can play alongside me while I’m making music, but he’s actually done it and performing with it.
How Goop’s Haters Made Gwyneth Paltrow’s Company Worth $250 Million - The New York Times
The more I read about Goop the more confusing it is. This article in the Times is astounding: it’s so real and such a real story following the reporter through her journey which must be similar to others who interact with Goop and “G.P.” It’s also astounding that the more negative press they get, the more fact checking that people do, the more money they make. They’ve learned how to monetize “cultural flashpoints.”
Also, via Frances on twitter, I recommend watching this man make a tiny knife from a drill bit. Yes.

‎Puzzle (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Dustin O'Halloran
Dustin O'Halloran is my favorite movie score composer. He also did the movie Breathe In and I listen to that soundtrack all the time. He is also part of a group named A Winged Victory for the Sullen and their albums are so good. Always on repeat.
And finally, these drone photos stitched together by Aydın Büyüktaş are awesome. Jaw dropping. Here are some of my favorites.
OK, that’s it for this week. I hope you found something interesting.
