Tuesday TEA Time
How are you? I am doing alright. I worked a lot of hours last week. I’m trying to finish a project, but I also am not willing to not complete it at the quality level that I wish. So I’m basically working overtime just for that.
I did get some new sneakers this week.
Nike Air Monarch IV Weekend Campout
The design was inspired by the idea of going camping. The Monarch is known as “the original Dad shoe.” So it makes sense these were originally released on Father’s Day and some of them were even delivered in Coleman coolers. Mine did not come in a cooler. I like them and I look forward to wearing them.
First off: there is a magazine series titled “Weapons of Reason” that I recommend checking out. You can order the latest issue that is about food (or subscribe to the next/last four) or you can read the back issues online. I haven’t read through them all yet, but I did order the next one and I look forward to receiving it.
Secondably, I wanted to point you to this Wired article about face recognition not working as well with non-white people. This is a common problem that happens over and over again. Bathroom faucet sensors sometimes don’t work as well, photo filters (even those on our phones) are not always tested to work with all skin types. Famously Oprah used a newer “LDK edition” cameras when they first came out because they had better performance for a wider range of skin types. Even though this has been a known problem for many many years, programmers and technology creators keep making the same mistakes over and over.

You have got to go through this interactive web site created by Bloomber about Malls! It’s like a video game. This would have taken so long to make.
I also recommend you watch his gif/video attached this tweet below about a “shable.” 🤯
Huh. It's a shable.

And finally, I recommend checking out this Insta page of architecture photos. So many stunning images.
OK, that’s all. I hope you have a great rest of your week.
