World, Folk, Roots | Northern Resonance and Marvara in Sweden, Wor in Europe, Folkatomik New single - Issue #48

Hello,

I trust you enjoyed a great week. Here in Sicily, it seems that spring has finally come.

Last week, we had two important events in Sweden:

Northern Resonance had a fantastic showcase at Nordic Folk Alliance in Goteborg.
Marvara, a quite new folk band we are coaching, had also a very successful concert in Sweden – at Malmo Folk. This is a feel-good folk band led by Belgian bagpipe player and composer Marieke Van Ransbeeck that includes musicians from belgium, Sweden, and Denmark. Marieke is also an active member of the Nufolk European Orchestra.Marvara will perform this summer at Dranouter Festival.

In Italy, Luca Bassanese & La Piccola Orchestra Popolare had their first gig in the country after a very long time. As usual, it was a blast and in good timing to boost the new album’s crowdfunding campaign. In May, Luca will perform in Belgium. His gig at Labadoux Festival was postponed for two years now. It will be followed by another concert at the Airbag Festival in the beautiful city of Bruges.

We are also happy to announce that Loccisano-De Carolis Duo will be part of the Internationales de la Guitare in France next October. This is a good start for this unique and original duo of Chitarra Battente.

Last but not least, Folkatomik will release their new single in May. It will be followed by their debut album coming out in June. Some new video clips will soon be available online. They also started touring. Follow them on FB.
