A day before the Illinois primary, Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker is endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden for president — calling him the “right candidate to beat Donald Trump.”
Pritzker has repeatedly said he would stay out of the Democratic primary, but he made the endorsement, in part, to remind voters elections are still important, even as the nation and state grapple with the coronavirus outbreak. Reporter Tina Sfondeles has the story…
“The time for persuasion and public appeals is over. The time for action is here,” the governor said. “This is not a joke. No one is immune to this, and you have an obligation to act in the best interests of all the people of this state.”
