Boy, 15, shot to death blocks from Simeon High School

Chicago Sun-Times Morning Edition
Good morning, Chicago —
Here’s the latest news from around the area.
A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed yesterday two blocks from Simeon High School, where he was a student. “I’ve lost multiple classmates every year, and it’s just heartbreaking,“ Aie’rianna Williams, a senior at the school, told one of our reporters.
Federal prosecutors also continue to file charges against those involved in the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol, including a man from Illinois who purportedly wrote on Facebook that, “by the time we got there it was like going to the shopping mall.”
And the state’s coronavirus positivity rate has dipped to a two-month low, officials said yesterday, as Chicago and other areas are "coming down the other side” of the Delta surge.
