Working off the jet lag from a trip to Shanghai + Tokyo - hence the late edition of the newsletter.
In ML news, the 2019 NeurIPS (previously NIPS) conference is wrapping up. You can find talk recordings and slides on Facebook here. As always, Joelle Pineau (of McGill and Facebook AI Research) gave a great talk on reproducible, reusable, and robust reinforcement learning (see her ‘Reproducibility Checklist’). Her talk reminded me of a recent post from Thomas Huijskens titled ‘Data scientists, the only useful code is production code’.
