Mitch Jackson's Weekly Business, Law and Tech Update! Issue #29 (correction)

Text Community Number Correction (sorry).
In my last email newsletter, I Inadvertently shared an incorrect text number to my private one to one text community. The correct number is
Sorry and thank you to those of you who reached out. I appreciate you!
Below is a copy of the earlier (corrected) email newsletter.
Welcome to the intersection of law, business and technology.
Each week I curate a few of my favorite posts, tweets and updates from the prior week. I hope you find value with my choices and recommendations.
After you’ve had a chance to dive into this week’s issue, it would mean the world to me if you’d please hit reply, say hello and share your thoughts and suggestions.

LinkedIn Live Audio is the Big News of the Week!
LinkedIn Live Audio has been out for less than two weeks and is being made available to only 200 beta users out of the 800M users on the platform. One of the early testers is my dear friend, Robert Hanna, and on Sunday, I had the opportunity to participate in my first LinkedIn Live Audio with Rob. In a nutshell, it was amazing.
I even joined the social audio conversation from my Metaverse VR conference room via my Oculus Quest 2 headset (here’s a video if you want to see what our VR rooms look like) and will probably save the details of that experience (it was awesome) for next week’s newsletter.
On Tuesday I was invited back into a LinkedIn Live Audio space as Robert’s guest to continue kicking the digital tires on the audio platform. During the live audio conversation, we focused on how lawyers can use this new technology to help consumers while marketing and branding their firms. We had a full house and my appreciation for the power of this new social audio service became even greater.
My take-a-way is to pay attention and embrace the new LinkedIn live audio when it rolls out to everyone. It’s going to be a big deal.
My New “Metaverse Lawyers” Groups on LinkedIn and Facebook!
On Thursday I created two new “Metaverse Lawyers” groups. One is on Facebook and for those of you who are not fans of FB, I’ve created another group on LinkedIn. Both are already filling up fast!
If you’re a lawyer or legal service provider who is interested in the metaverse and enjoys adding value to your community, and please join us. We’ll be sharing tips, approaches, and resources daily. And yes, it’s OK to be in both groups.
I took the time and effort to create these groups because:
  • I believe private/public metaverses are changing the world;
  • I wanted to create a place to ask questions and share answers;
  • I wanted to share all my resources;
  • Some platforms and approaches are better than others;
  • You need to know about the best VR headsets and tools;
  • I wanted to share free/paid metaverse platform options;
  • Things are changing quickly. I wanted to share updates;
  • There’s a right and wrong way to “communicate” on meta;
  • The metaverse is 10X better than Zoom to build rapport;
  • When done right, it’s as easy as Zoom (share a link);
  • Important to know how IP law/contracts all play a part;
  • Buying/leasing digital land and assets can be tricky;
  • Digital commerce allows for cryptocurrency options;
  • NFTs can be powerful tools in the metaverse;
  • Web3 tech like smart contracts, DAOs, and DeFI are here;
  • I want a place to share experts who can take us by the hand and show us how to use and leverage all of the above.
For good or bad, the metaverse train is already here, and if you’re not on it, I believe you’ll be left back at the station. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last 35 years of practicing law, it’s that being early can be a game changer in business and life. When it comes to the metaverse, make no mistake about it– we are all early in this space.
If you’re as excited as I am about tapping into this fantastic new tech and opportunity, please consider connecting, learning, and sharing in my new “Metaverse Lawyers” communities.
