While you’re reading this on Cyber Monday, through the cyber technologies of cybernetics, I am writing this to you on plain old Analog Sunday. And I started to write you a complainy introduction about how late it is, how worn out I am from celebrating one of my favorite holidays with family I haven’t seen in years, how I feel gross and lethargic from eating so much food and lazing around all weekend, and how I can’t currently get my kids to go to sleep because they are each engrossed in a book. And then I realized what you’re probably thinking right now: that I’m a dipshit to complain about any of those things. Trust me, I don’t say any of this to #humblebrag, or to bore you with the #FirstWorldProblems trope. I’m sure we all went around our tables and said what we were grateful for, and we all read the articles about how important it is to be grateful year-round and practice thanksgiving every day. But we don’t do it. At least I don’t. I was more than willing to jump right back into whining about things that don’t matter. Until I stopped to tell you. So thanks for stopping my complaintrain. And thanks for reading. On to some good stuff, and an epic week ahead…

Michael Dukakis loves turkey carcasses
“Throwing out a turkey carcass is sinful. Absolutely sinful,” Dukakis says, in all seriousness. “It’s a terrible thing to do. There’s so much richness and goodness in a turkey carcass, God.”

Is the House on the Rock a Great Hoax or Great Art?
I absolutely loved the House on the Rock, despite (or because of?) it’s sinister, grimy excess and trashy art installation feel.

Ina Garten's Herb-Roasted Turkey Breast
I know you’re sick of turkey by now, but this has been our go-to Thanksgiving recipe for years. It’s simple and delicious, without all the drama. Go buy some of the frozen turkey breasts that are on sale right now, and make this a couple of Sundays from now. Then mail the bones to Michael Dukakis.
