Then, blink again.
See nothing? Just a black flash….
That black, it’s actually an escape.
This whole social distancing, staying home, no exercising from 10h-19h, Amazon not delivering non-essentials, worrying about today, uncertain about tomorrow kind of world is getting to my friends and to ME.
- Hiding in the bathroom.
- Washing dishes ever-so meticulously.
- Volunteering to go to the supermarket.
I’m guilty of all 3.
I miss me time.
To think. To just be me.
But today, my buddy reminded me.
Cuz when you blink, you’re in a world with only you in it. You’re vacation with only you.
So when the stress hits hard….and for sure it will…
Blink and hold.
That extra second of alone time might trigger a good thing.
For me, this week I asked Alexa, “Alexa, please play Alanis Morissette Ironic.” Talk about a random song that I haven’t heard forever.
Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?
We work our asses off to create a good life for our families. We sacrifice a lot now so that we can reap the benefits later.
Ironically, this lockdown is providing what we want: (or, at least what many of us tell ourselves)
- More time with our loved ones.
- Working in our underwear.
- Not having to shave or shower or even turning on the webcam.
- More Netflix.
Thanks, God. But maybe it’s just a bit too much indulgence to handle at once.
Oh well 🤷♂️.
Just gotta keep blinking and laughing at life.
What a weird time.
Thanks for reading and wishing you fun! (and eggs and flour and all the stuff I couldn’t find at the store today! )
ps….if any of your friends could use some web help during these Covid times, please put them in touch with me! I’m trying to share skills where possible. https://www.webodew.com
