Happiness Can Be Temporary

Imagine you’re eating a serving of your favourite food. While eating, you close your eyes, allowing your senses to extract all the joy & satisfaction it has to offer. But with time, even with your best efforts at preservation, the dish loses taste, becomes bland, and eventually gets spoilt. But that does not stop you from relishing its taste the next time you get to eat a fresh serving of it.
Just like that food, the joy or happiness you feel as a result of something good happening may be temporary. But that should not stop you from basking in that joy, milking it for all it’s worth.
“Happiness is dangerous. Something always ruins it.” That was one of the quotable quotes from a movie I watched a while back. We may not want to admit it, but more often than not, that statement holds. Bad things happen unexpectedly, and sadness creeps up on us very rudely.
However, in the spirit of basking in your joy, no matter how temporal, I say: “Happiness can be temporary. Enjoy it while it lasts.”
