“Should Canada approach internet regulation with a greater sense of humility?”
Why is the government trying to regulate certain internet services, like Google, Facebook and Netflix? It’s all about money. And we need to challenge whether it is the best approach.
It isn’t easy to get booted off Twitter or Facebook.
So, I wonder why the Canadian government is funding a consultant who was permanently suspended from Twitter for violating its policies against hateful conduct. And the funding is from a program intended to help reduce online hate.
A report in the Globe and Mail has people speculating on the possibility of Xplornet taking over Freedom Mobile as part of the process to get the Shaw acquisition approved. If the report is accurate, it might bring an interesting and fresh approach to Canada’s wireless marketplace.
