Hey Listies,
I wanted to make sure to send an email in honor of one of my favorite shopping holidays of the year — Black Friday.
I’ll admit that as a teenager, I was 100% that person who waited in line at 5am to shop the sales with my friends. If it helps, I worked my fair share of holiday shifts at the local Jewel Osco grocery store, so karma definitely came back to me in that regard!
Nowadays, I’m grateful that most businesses are happy to facilitate sales online so that people can fully enjoy Thanksgiving.
I didn’t want to overwhelm you with a long list of deals (there are enough of those going around).
Instead, I wanted to focus on sharing deals around stuff I actually bought or already have access to:
Here’s what I bought this year for Black Friday:
  • Lifetime access to the WordPress Astra theme. I’ve heard so many great things about this theme and it’s Nathan Ingram’s theme of choice to use across various web projects. I bought the lifetime Mini Agency bundle: $349 for the theme, page templates, and extra plugins — all for use across unlimited sites.
  • Lifetime access to NinjaOutreach. I can see multiple applications for using this in my business: guest post outreach, building backlinks, and so on. NinjaOutreach makes it easy to get in touch with relevant influencers and automate email campaigns around that outreach. I paid $297 for 4000 contacts and 10,000 max emails per month.
  • Lifetime 20% discount on Design Pickle (plus a free pickle suit). I had a chance to test this graphic design service out prior to purchasing the deal thanks to Patrick Rauland. Plus, you get a pickle suit and that’s awesome (perhaps next year’s Halloween costume?). I’m paying $957.58 quarterly for unlimited design requests.
  • Lifetime discount to WPMUDEV (this is the only affiliate link on this list). WPMU DEV offers some of the best WordPress plugins — especially for SEO. Now, they offer web hosting, too. Their deal is 4 months free forever, for unlimited sites (and a $30/month hosting credit) when you pay for an annual plan. I just published a WPMU DEV review that can help you decide if this deal is right for you. This year (and every year after), I locked in the special rate of $392.
  • Up to 30% off Elementor. After meeting the team at WordCamp US, I knew it was time to take the leap. I bought this page builder plugin deal for just one website but they’re also offering great pricing for 3-1000 websites! This paired well with the Astra deal I bought, which included access to an Astra/Elementor add on.
Here are the deals I’d buy if I didn’t already have access (these all include my affiliate links):
  • 50% off at iThemes: I bought their Toolkit membership last year and there’s just so much to love: many useful plugins for web developers, web hosting, high-quality WordPress training… the list goes on.
  • $100 off StudioPress themes (lifetime deal): I bought this deal earlier in the year. It grants access to all WordPress themes on the Genesis Framework (including third-party themes), for unlimited sites, for life.
  • 35% off WP Rocket. This is installed on all my websites and all new client sites. It helps me optimize various speed/performance factors, which helps my sites rank high in relevant search!
  • AppSumo’s special Black Friday lifetime deals. I’ve purchased HelpShelf, DepositPhotos, HeySummit, and Book Like a Boss. I’d also consider LiveWebinar if I didn’t have another solution already in place. I’m also considering WebARX but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
  • 35% off OptinMonster. I use this advanced opt-in forms tool on The Blogsmith and Tanks that Get Around. You won’t find a better deal during the year!
I know you could easily drop a pretty penny on these purchases but you’re gaining lifetime or long term access to tools your business can greatly benefit from in return.
Plus, Black Friday spending is a good way to reduce your taxable business income at the end of the year.
With so many good deals, it’s hard to pick and choose. Try to focus on just the stuff you know you’ll use right away, that can improve your workflow/outputs. If you can gain access via a lifetime deal or with a useful bonus, all the better.
Check out my guide for purchasing lifetime software deals for more tips on making decisions between all of these great deals.
Hope your holiday season is off to a good start.
Happy shopping,
