For the past year, online retailers have been chasing a ‘phantom shopper’. Someone by the name of John Smith has left thousands of items purchased and in carts; but never comes to pick up the product. Online retailers were enthralled at this mystery man and decided to reach out to Google to see if they could identify him.
Upon digging, Google had found out it was their own bot that was created to ensure the prices from online retailers after tax and shipping matched the Google listing. (Source)
The 🌏 of Habits
If you’re struggling to build simple habits like journaling or reading, try habit stacking. Habit stacking is one of the easiest, most effective ways to build new habits because you build off of already existing ones.
If I’m trying to build a habit of journaling, I might try and journal every morning while I’m waiting for my coffee water to heat up to the pristine 202 degrees. Because coffee is already an ingrained habit that I never miss, adding journaling to the waiting period will not be as difficult as it would if I were to try and journal in a random time each day.

I started reading Stillness is the Key by Ryan Holiday after I saw it on James Clear’s list of best non-fiction books. I’ve had many people recommend his books to me, so I tried to read Obstacle is the Way a few months ago and I found it very simple and not very thought-provoking. But, after seeing James Clear recommend this one, I decided to give it a shot - so far so good.
The book is split into three sections: mind, spirit, and body. It focuses on people from history and the decisions they made in stillness and how key it was. Not extremely thought provoking, but it’s a nice read.
