Innovation Inspiration — #6: Medium is Another Platform for Discovering Innovative Ideas
By Lucy Gray • Issue #6 • View online
Have you ever checked out Medium? It’s a platform for self-publishing and one of the channels that I regularly visit to find ad-free original content that expands my thinking.

How Medium Works
Reading suggestions are made on my Medium homepage or app each day based on my reading history and interests. I can also follow individual writers and group publications. Just visiting my homepage makes it easy for me to discover new and interesting material. See the screenshot below.
Most content is free, but some articles are restricted unless you upgrade for $5 per month or $50 years which seems reasonable for high-quality writing.
Writers can earn money by putting their content behind this paywall. Read more about Medium’s distribution system here. Medium also reviews content and selects items for further distribution. Criteria is described in this documentation.
Note that this newsletter is written on Twitter’s newsletter platform, Revue, but I also publish it to Medium and add it to a publication on Medium. I like how I can cross-populate this content on different platforms.
