📚 Book - This week I finished “In Order To Live”
by Yeonmi Park in which she describes her life living in North Korea, escape through China and Mongolia, and new life in South Korea. I have read other books on North Korean defectors but as they all defected in the 90s their stories were quite distant. Yeonmi is my age and whilst I was at school struggling with assignments she was in China struggling to survive. It really puts things in perspective
🎙 Podcast - After a bit of a break I returned to the podcast No Dumb Questions
by Destin and Matt. I really enjoyed their episode on unwritten rules in society which got me thinking about what unwritten rules I follow… haven’t thought of any yet but will let you know.
🧬 Article - I presented an article on using nanoparticles to deliver shRNA (in the form of a plasmid) to silence an upregulated gene in prostate cancer. Whilst I was sceptical of the results presented I enjoyed the cross over between different scientific disciplines.
