My thoughts and musings
My thoughts and musings
Hi friends, welcome to my weekly newsletter. This is just a space for me to share my favourite things I have encountered this week and updates on my projects. I hope by seeing my progress (and struggles) in “real time” will give you an insight into what I am doing and encourage you in whatever it is you are doing.

My favourite things this week
📚 Book - This week I started reading The Name of The Wind I was told I would love the book because I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I must admit, it hasn’t grabbed me as much as I thought it would but I am only a third of the way through so keen to power on. Only after I started reading did I discover that it was an incomplete trilogy so now think I have made a terrible mistake emotionally committing myself to something that is not finished. Opps.
🎙 Podcast - I have been taking a break from podcasts this week after feeling my mind was too busy. Interestingly, I usually listen to podcasts on my commute and as I have been working from home for the last few weeks due to Sydney lockdown my need and thus desire to listen to podcasts has faded.
🧬 Article - I have decided to take a break from publishing sci-com articles on my website and put all of my attention into my business. Once I have the business up and running I will turn my attention back to writing. I recognised that I often make the mistake of doing too many things at once and thus not doing anything well so am trying to stop and slow down and focus on one project at a time. For now that project is my business.
Updates on my projects
The two areas that I try to work on each week (in addition to my day job) are (a) building multiple income streams and (b) science communication.
This week resulted in a lot of solid work on my businesses and other projects. I was a lot better at focusing on one task and started using artificial deadline to limit the scope of my work. As a result I was able to launch a new business, now I am focusing on marketing and advertising for my company and chasing that first sale. 100% focus on getting that first sale, hopefully in my next check in I will have a result to share.
