November 2021 was a month of behind the scenes work rather than a month of scheduled events. It saw the final touches to our Springer book series “LCF studies in commercial and financial law” where we are now underway for volumes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Details of the book titles and release dates will be announced by the publishers when they have advanced in the production process.

Our concluding conference in our highly successful LCF/Jindal GLS conference series “Contract Law in Common Law Countries - a study in divergence” went ahead on 7th and 8th December 2021. Our distinguished keynote speaker was Professor Roger Brownsword of Kings College, London. Our discussants included Professor Geraint Howells of NUI Galway, Professor Alexander Loke of CityU School of Law and the Hong Kong Commercial and Maritime Law Centre and Professor Franco Ferrari of NYU. Professor Larry di Matteo of the University of Florida gave a paper on penalties in contracts.

The papers presented at the LCF/Jindal conference series will appear in the Liverpool Law review (issue 2) 2022.

Proposals are invited to the LCF book series. Both monographs or edited collections are welcome.

A regular contributor to our conferences and publications, Dr. Daniele D'Alvia, has completed another monograph with Routledge: “Mergers, Acquisitions and International Financial Regulation. Analysing Special purpose Acquisition companies”.

LCF will be delighted to present this book at a later date. In the meantime, an Italian language book launch is organised by members of the LCF Academic Board. Use the link in the poster if you wish to participate.
