Hello !
I am sending this edition on a holiday. Actually, I’m sending this edition during major holidays for the 3 monotheistic religions, which live an unusual concordance of times. If you are an atheist, you are - normally - on a long weekend. So whoever you are, happy holidays!
For the first time ever, The Big One will be on the same subject as last week. In 80 editions of the French version of this newsletter, it never happened, because the other sagas (Facebook and Apple, Epic and Apple, yes, a lot of Apple) were living the legal time after the media time, and the legal time takes longer. Maybe it’s because of his legendary impatience that Elon Musk doesn’t bother with the legal time and stays on the media time by the way?
The third known time is political time, but I won’t talk about politics in this newsletter - you can take a break. I will only have one advice: don’t forget to go and vote next Sunday if you’re French.

  • Tuesday, April 12, a class action suit attacks Musk on the delay to disclose his stake.
  • Thursday, April 14, he launched a hostile takeover bid to delist Twitter and make “necessary changes.” The same day, he was on stage at TED in Vancouver and described his vision of a social network dedicated to free speech.
  • On Friday, April 15, Twitter’s board announced the use of a poison pill to dilute shares.
  • On the same day, Vanguard Group revealed that they now own 10,3% of Twitter.
The discussions
Debates are raging about whether one man can control the platform. Journalists are worried about the fate of free speech, major shareholders don’t all seem aligned on the subject (and some might have known about it beforehand), and employees are worried for plenty of reasons.
