The big one
🏈 I don’t think we have an equivalent of the Superbowl in France, and it’s harder to import than Halloween or Black Friday… so we have nothing. Not on the sports side, not on the friendly side, and certainly not on the pub side.
📺 Superbowl commercials… They have their Wikipedia page so much it became iconic. The 1984 Macintosh commercial debuted there, for example. And it’s become as anticipated as the halftime show.
🤑 30 seconds before, during or after the Superbowl costs between entre $5 and 7 million to air. That’s 4.2 million SEA clics on a Google ad, for example. Not to mention the production costs, between special effects overkill, fashionable directors and the presence of muses from movies, songs, series or popular shows like Saturday Night Live
🌟 Chloé Zao directs a spot for Budweiser, Serena Williams joins other famous sportspeople for Michelob Ultra, and Kenny G plays for Busch Light. As for the cars, almost all of them electric, of course, we can be happy to see the return of the full cast of Austin Powers for General Motors, Arnold Shwarzeneger becomes Zeus for BMW, and I loved the Nissan spot with Eugene Levy in a counter role (alongside Brie Larson). Megan Thee Stallion gets upstaged by a sloth for Doritos, Snoop Dog and Martha Stewart have a lot to light up with Bic, Lindsay Lohan returns with plenty of self-deprecation in a spot for Planet Fitness, Demi Moore and Mila Kunis are pitted against each other for AT&T, Zendaya sells seashells for Squarespaceand Hannah Waddingham loses big to a Rakuten shopper.
🏆 My favorite spots? The secret thoughts of couple Scarlett Johanson - Colin Jost revealed by Amazon Echo. Matthew McConaughey’s hot air balloon ride poking fun at Zuck, Musk and Bezos for Salesforce. And Seth Rogen’s nuptials, reminiscing about the best moments of his life with best man Paul Rudd, and Lays chips.

As I do it anyway (both out of need for my clients and out of sheer curiosity for, well, everything), why not share with you what I’ve thought useful ? On top of my posts on Twitter and LinkedIn, I’ll share with you every week what has inspired me, surprised me, what I found insightful, or sometimes just funny.
Curator is the new creator. I didn’t come up with that, Marie did, and I have utter faith in her trendspotting.
