Alexa everywhere. How would you like an Echo Microwave? Or an Echo Wall Clock? How about a smart plug that works with your Echo? No? Not interested? Pretty as a picture. Apple’s new iPhone Xs, and Xs Max didn’t reinvent the iPhone X design introduced a year earlier, but they have a slew of new components and features inside. Nowhere are they more in evidence than in the photo and video capabilities. I got a chance to sit down with Apple’s crackerjack camera technology team for a deep dive. You didn’t win a cruise. Here’s some news that should come as no surprise to anyone who ones a cellphone: by 2019 nearly half our cellphone calls will be scam calls. You know which ones I’m talking about. Calls telling you, you need to get on Medicaid. Calls that tell you’ve won a trip. Calls that are in a completely different language. And these calls aren’t going anywhere because they can’t be blocked. Why, because the caller ID you see is likely a spoofed number, meaning, if you block that one, they generate a new one to take its place. We’re doomed.

Crash-proofed. Elon Musk watchers like me know that this has been a tough couple of months for the busy entrepreneur. So, it’s no wonder he’s celebrating Tesla’s Model 3 all-electric sedan’s NHTSA crash test results. After smashing, bashing, and rolling the car, the agency gave it a perfect rating. This doesn’t mean the car won’t get in an accident, but if it does, you’re more likely to walk away unscathed.
