God particle decays. Six years ago, scientists at the CERN Large Hadron Collider confirmed the existence of the Higgs boson particle, also known as the God Particle because it’s believed to be a building block for, well, everything. Now scientists have confirmed this particle decaying, which happens to be a good thing, because it confirms some standard physics theories. Head spinning yet? Google vs Trump. As soon as you start typing a search in Google, algorithms set to work pre-populating what the system thinks you’re searching for. When you actually launch the search, the system uses a powerful indexing system and a wide array of signals to produce results. Some people, like President Donald Trump, though, believe there’s a biased, human hand at work, pushing, in his case, negative news about him. Google says, “Nope, not happening.” The White House says, “We wanna take a look.” The First Amendment does a face palm.

The real deal. Instagram is opening verification up to everyone, at least everyone who wants to apply and then, if they’re lucky, get verified by Facebook’s popular photo-sharing social media platform. They’re also trying to get a handle on the recent rash of Insta-hacks.
