I do hope that at least one thing each week adds value to your life/family/work. I know what hits me is not necessarily what hits you, but I try to curate during the week what might be helpful to my subscribers. So, click on the article/video/link and save it for later or take a couple of minutes and read to learn and grow together! Also, I really enjoy hearing from you - so simply click reply if you have questions - or would just like to say hello.

How a Jungle Cruise Provides a Lesson in Exceptional Customer Service
I just got back from spending two days at Disneyland with my family for spring break. Even though spending two full days there, I’ve had enough of Disney, I always leave inspired by their excellence and creativity. I just read this article from Harvard Business Review this morning about Jungle Cruise and how it and other things at Disney stand at the intersection of great PROCESS, great PLACE and great PEOPLE. What would it look like in our businesses/churches/organizations if we leveraged those 3 things as a framework?

Virtual travel agent and mobile travel assistant - Pana
I’ve been a TripIt Pro user for many years (I still use it). But this new Pana app is awesome … and yes, it’s free! Even if you don’t travel that often, just download it now and connect it to your email. Whenever you book any travel (airfare, hotel, car rental, etc), it will AUTOMATICALLY add it to the Pana app and even better, it will AUTOMATICALLY check you in for your flight. So, if you fly Southwest, you won’t be on the last boarding group if you forget to check in to your flight. But best of all, you have this one stop place, where you can see all of your itinerary, reservation numbers, etc. Download it now!

Do For One - Markee's Story on Vimeo
Last year, Athens Church did a “Do For One” Sunday where they asked people to give $1 to make a difference. It’s amazing when you pool everyone’s $1 and can do something together what you can’t do alone and do for one what we wish we could do for everyone. Well, they did something pretty amazing … you gotta watch this video (and get your tissues ready). And if you attend Discovery Church, this is coming to a church near you!

Bob Tiede | 15 Questions Great Leaders Ask Other Leaders
Has someone ever approached you and asked if they could “pick your brain?” Because I love to help others learn and grow, I’m always blessed with the opportunity. But many times, I’m surprised by the questions that people ask sometimes. Sure, there’s no such this as a stupid question (well, actually there is). But when you are with another leader or someone you want to learn from, take some time to think through your questions and ask good questions. Questions that would help you see how they think like a leader. In fact, here’s a good list of questions that might get your mind going others that will make your time valuable and also theirs.

Louder Than Words: The Power of Uncompromised Living by Andy Stanley
My men’s group just went through this book and it was a great reminder to me how important character is and yet we ignore it. Your character, not accomplishments or acquisitions, determines your legacy … character is like a tree—it doesn’t develop overnight. Real character is developed over a lifetime. You can’t wait until the last minute, pull an all-nighter, and expect to earn a passing grade. The measure of a man or woman’s character is not determined by a fill-in-the-blank or true-or-false exam. This is an essay test. An essay that takes a lifetime to write. Today you wrote a section. It wasn’t a long section. By itself it probably wasn’t even a significant section. Today’s section was likely only a slight variation on yesterday’s. But look back in ten years—or twenty years—and you will be surprised. Whether it is a pleasant or unpleasant surprise is completely up to you. This book is a must read!
