If you know me at all, you know I have a lot of interests (leadership, technology, travel, productivity, music, etc). This newsletter will be just some of my musings and curation of content from the week. It will be weekly, sometimes less, never more.

Newsletter #4 (already been a month with this experiment!) … welcome new subscribers! As I mentioned in newsletter #1, I’m trying this for 3-4 months. The principle is called timeboxing. How many times have you started a new project or habit and it just fizzles out? For me, too many! But creating a timebox where you say that you’ll commit to doing it for an x amount of time, gives you the discipline to stick through it when you’re not motivated or don’t see the fruit. After the timebox period, you can assess and evaluate on whether to want to continue. It helps define expectations and even if you do it for 3-4 months (my timebox), you still feel like you accomplished something and gave it a shot. Try this principle out on something that you’ve been wanting to do … do it! Also, thanks everyone that voted last week on the post you enjoyed the most. Here was the top 3 votes (in order): It wasn’t surprising but it helps me to narrow and prioritize those categories. I’ll do it for the next couple of ones as well, to confirm. So, please, after reading through this newsletter, at the bottom, just click the thumbs up icon for the ONE item that resonated/interests/enjoyed most. Thanks also for forwarding this email with others and feel free to reply to this email for any thoughts, comments, suggestions!

1Password - Password Manager and Secure Wallet on the App Store
If the answer to that question is one, then please stop reading this newsletter right now and change your passwords! (Especially if your password is “password” or “123456”). But then, if you have more than one password, how in the world do you remember them all? That’s where this awesome app comes in. Save all your passwords in this app and is SECURE. Now, all you have to do is remember 1 password and then you can see all of the others. It is free on iOS and Android. You do have to pay a monthly if you want it on multiple devices and have it sync (i.e. on your Mac or with other family), which I love! But if you just want to save your passwords on your phone, just download it right now and save all your passwords on this SECURE app and not in Notes or Evernote. Trust me, you want this app.

The Simple Solution to Traffic - YouTube
This video was fascinating as it explains how traffic happens and the possible solution to traffic. I’ve always been skeptical about the solution they propose, but it makes a LOT of sense and can’t wait for when it happens. Watch it!

Kye S. Chung's Goodreads (kyeschung) (375 books)
The average American reads one book a year (and they usually just read the first chapter of that book). The average CEO reads one book a week. That’s because leaders are learners. I wish I could read a book a week, but it’s more like a book a month. This year, my goal is 18 books (1.5 books/month). Here’s my 2017 reading list. What’s on your reading list (reply with yours)?

Hard Work is The Single Greatest Competitive Advantage
This is a great reminder and so basic and yet so neglected. I feel like most of America’s work ethic is to get by with as little as I can. As my teenage girls started working a couple of months ago, I reminded them that proactivity, hard work, and giving your best really separates them from others. But of course, this is not just a business principle or a life skill, it’s actually biblical. Luke 16:10 - “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. What would the world would be like all of us lived out this principle in our work and in our families.

FOX5 Surprise Squad: Couple Adopts Dying Neighbor’s 3 Kids, Comes Home, Finds House Different - YouTube
A MUST WATCH TIL THE END! A tragedy leaves 3 children without anyone so a neighbor/mother of 5 opens her heart and her home to help. I always loved Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and this short video reminds me of that. It moves me to think that people would do things like this. I’ve got to be honest, I don’t think I would, but it challenges to me to ask then, what can I do for one what I wish I could do for everyone? If you haven’t seen this video, you’ve gotta watch it.

Storyheap – Focus on the stories. We do the rest.
Have you noticed that after Snapchat got Stories, Instagram got it and now Facebook just got it too. Stories is what got me using Snapchat in the first place. And with more friends on Instagram, I’ve switched over to Instagram stories. BUT, sometimes I post on both, which is a manual process. That’s where Storyheap comes in. They are in beta now, but you can share automatically between both platforms! So, check it out and then signup for early access so that you can be one of the first ones to get it.
