PEN America has compiled a report on book bans in the US—including where it’s happening and which books and authors are getting banned the most. It finds a “profound increase… [in bans on] books that relate to communities of color and LGBTQ+ subjects.” In the past 9 months, there have been 1,500+ bans; including 1,100+ unique book titles; 1000 authors, illustrators, translators; in 86 districts + 26 states.
