Hey y'all,
As we close out the year and get wrapped up in this holiday season, don’t forget to pause and reflect. The past two years have been full of so much–it’s been a rollercoaster ride with the unexpected. There is a lot to be grateful for, yet there is also a lot to grieve. And grief is not just reserved for when we experience the loss of a loved one. We can grieve lost opportunities, missed time, failed expectations, and the disappearance of life as we used to know it. Don’t diminish your grief. Honor it and let it be.
And know that two things can be true. Grieving can co-exist with joy. I am learning that as I navigate a loss in my family while marveling at my children’s energy and joy. No need to “fake it until you make it.” We can literally be with what is and create self-care practices that make space for this new reality we find ourselves embodying.
One thing that I am going to do this month is: take more naps, dance, learn about grieving rituals, and learn some new breathing practices. During this time, I am also going to pause sending this newsletter. I will be back in January rested, re-focused, and ready to enter into 2022.
