Dear Educators & Friends,
As we navigate this bear market, I can’t help but recall some major missed opportunities the last time crypto took a hit, in 2018.
Sure, I could’ve bought more cryptocurrency. But the real tragedy was that I didn’t fully understand the potential of the web3 ecosystem.
Blockchain allows individuals to self-organize, provide value through decentralized contributions, and propel regenerative systems for human flourishing.
So this time around, I’m excited to continue building within the ecosystem because real utility will elevate the real value, too.
And this is where
regeneration comes into play. Inspired by living ecosystems, regenerative economics and regenerative learning are being
memed into a movement in web3.
Here is what makes up a regenerative system (this is my own aggregation of the many definitions out there):
-
Life creates life: the system yields net positive externalities and conditions for continued growth of the system
-
Wholeness: the system promotes wellness for individuals and the whole, with no superfluous waste
-
Interrelationship & biodiversity: nothing exists for itself alone and a variety of assets makes the system stronger
-
Equilibrium: the system is adaptive to the evolution of the world, individuals, and itself and continuously seeks balance… we are moving verbs, not stagnant nouns.
How might you change the way you teach so that learning creates learning? How might you change the way you run a company so that wealth rejuvenates the planet?
Regenerative systems are a win-win. And the ethos of web3 is all about this virtuous cycle of wealth, health, and wellbeing for all.
I’m convinced that web3 regenerative systems will solve our biggest problems.
Let’s dive in.
Warmly yours,
Vriti & k20 Educators
