Hello Educators!
Thank you for the positive messages & feedback on this newsletter. We know that starting in the web3 space can be jarring because there’s so much to consume. Our goal is to start slow & provide an increasingly deeper dive, especially into the utility for education. Our first issue was generally about web3 but our subsequent issues will hone in on one part of web3 at a time.
In this issue, you’ll learn a bit about NFTs. To start with, we’d like you to know what they are, why they matter to education, & how you can get involved.
Personally, I’ve found most inspiration from NFTs that go beyond art. I’m excited to rethink systems around credentialing, incentives, intellectual property ownership, asset generation, & more. Here are some unique, trailblazing projects:
-
Metagood: Social causes & communities across Sustainable Development Goals are supported by these NFTs
-
Veefriends: NFTs have value like conference tickets, gifts, time with the founder, & more
-
ArtBlocks: Pick a style & automatically generate a unique piece of art
-
Axie Infinity: NFTs become your actual characters across various ‘play-to-earn’ virtual games
-
The Last Raptor: Get access to their open marketplace & events with NFTs
Happy dreaming & happy reading.
Yours,
Vriti & k20 Educators
