Hello Educators & Friends!
This issue is an introduction to DAOs, or decentralized autonomous organizations. In their simplest form, they are a community with a treasury.
DAOs have the potential to change the way private & public institutions operate. The power of the DAO is held with its members, if it’s done right. However, as with all things in Web3, this is a new frontier with many areas for growth.
Below, you’ll learn about what DAOs are, use cases especially in education, things that could go wrong, and if you’re into it, how you can join or even start a DAO.
We’re also elated to announce that k20 Educators is working on a DAO for innovation in education! The goal is “to be a catalyst for innovative solutions & practices toward reimagining education, at scale” and, in support of our larger vision, to dismantle global silos in education. We’ll send more information soon.
I’m personally excited about the potential of DAOs for education - imagine more efficient, transparent, & relevant allocation of resources toward grants, scholarships, projects, school programs, extra-curriculars, scheduling, staffing, &… everything that is holding our education infrastructures back!
Happy ideating.
Yours,
Vriti & k20 Educators
