It’s a special project for me. The family that owns the hotel is almost as committed to their business as they are to promoting the Sierra de Ancares. So I’ve done a lot of walking with them, as they enthusiastically pointed out the mountain paths to me. And little by little their enthusiasm and concern for the area passed on to me. An area so deserted that having a hotel booking engine is not possible because Internet access is still a luxury there.
So I designed, made pictures (some of myself, it must be some kind of weird Hitchcock complex), I wrote the code. I am also happy with the technological stack: Middleman
(a command-line tool for creating static websites using all the shortcuts and tools of the modern web development environment), Contentful
(API-first CMS), Codeship
(for continuous deployment), Amazon S3
and Amazon Cloudfront
Take a look at it, it may be interesting if you don’t know the area. Until next week.
