Happy New Year YKC community … and welcome back. This year already started out crazy, so please stay safe out there.
I for one, am optimistic about this year, not in that we can direct situations which are truly out of our control (diseases, environment), but that we will have the strength and ability to overcome those challenges.

Why the pressure to set New Year’s resolutions might feel greater than ever — and how to combat it: This article is spot on. I can personally attest to feeling this way over the past two years (who can believe it’s been that long!). Who hasn’t felt “stuck” during this time, in whatever area of their life that they were looking to move forward in?
With that, I’ve never been a fan of New Year’s resolutions, as every day you wake up is another opportunity to take a small step to change your life. You don’t need some arbitrary reason, like a date on a calendar. But if that is the impetus to move things forward, then seize the opportunity. There are some good points in this article however, and I would agree that measurable steps, and trusting the process, not rushing for results, are the way to sustain motivation. What I believe the pitfall we all face is, is starting with a lot of motivation and giving up after the first setback…. and there will be setbacks.
I also wouldn’t spend too much time on social and would just focus on daily execution and moving the ball forward 1% every day. I am going through this process now and am doing something which I put off for the last few months. It is not easy, but I’m taking it one day at a time, so I am in the trenches with you.
Key Takeaways:
⚪️ Know thyself: You need to be honest with yourself and know where you may slip up.
⚪️ Win the day: Just focus on today, and don’t worry about tomorrow.
⚪️ Ask yourself why: A strong reason as to ‘why’ you want to accomplish this goal can get you through those difficult periods.
