Shalom YKC community … Summer is in full swing, and there are a number of in-person events happening as noted below, and I am optimistic more are on the way! I’ll be attending/hosting events this summer in Tel Aviv so please be in touch if you’re in town. Though I feel I’ve become a bit more introverted (probably a good trait for writing) as I’ve gotten older, I didn’t realize how much I truly missed attending events and connecting with people in-person.
I’ll be back in Israel the first week of July and would love to meet in person and catch-up in the Tel Aviv area. Additionally, if you’re a growing Israeli startup and looking to hire high-skilled workers in the US let’s chat about how I can help you find that talent in Tulsa. To schedule a time to meet please respond directly to this email.

What I'm reading
|
All I can gauge from here in the US (I will be back in Israel next week) is that there is a sense of guarded optimism under the “change” coalition and the new Prime Minister. It is too early to see where things will develop with the Palestinians, but putting our heads in the sand has not been a good strategy, despite Israel’s massive economic success (like this past month, Israel bet banks billions for venture firm Insight as Monday.com and WalkMe go public). Still, the idea that we are repeating history in an intractable conflict which both people are destined to endure is not a helpful paradigm. JP’s analysis is always one that gets to the fundamental understanding of human nature, and in his analysis with Jerusalem as the physical manifestation of a future utopia is spot on. Solving one person’s challenges is hard enough, as we have observed for eons, but solving a whole peoples’ challenges (and claims to a territory) is another matter altogether. As a start maybe people in the region should start by reading JP’s books ;) Key Takeaways:
⚪️ Israel as the human longing for paradise/perfection: An aspiration people are willing to kill and die for.
⚪️ Focus on what you can control: The conflict may truly be intractable, but improving your lot in life is not.
⚪️ Students of history: Something most who consume daily amounts of social media are not, and this is the case for reading more books.
