Welcome back YKC community … to (hopefully) the beginning of spring.
My latest op-ed in ISRAEL21c on how social media’s content of the war in Ukraine is making us more empathetic: Is social media a force for good in Ukrainian conflict?
To make a donation to the Ukraine Jewish Relief Fund here.
I’m debating putting together a networking happy hour around Israeli Independence Day (Yom Ha'atzmaut) the first week of May in New York… if this is something you’d be interested in attending let me know.
Startup Snapshot: Startup Snapshot is currently doing some research about what value corporates can provide for startups, allowing them to better fine tune their resources and innovation programs. They are looking to collect insights from early stage startup founders (those that raised up to $15M), investors, or ecosystem players in London or Boston.
Would be great to have those relevant individuals take part in this super short survey here. (Participants enter raffle to win 2-person dinner to Coal Office or Ramsay’s Kitchen.)
Make sure to follow me on TikTok for my reviews and reflections on popular business books here.

What I'm reading
What I'm reading
The 5AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life by Robin Sharma: I suppose some people need to read a close to 300-page book to absorb this simple message. This book had the same theme and vibe as Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist… basically self-development books for people who aren’t into that kind of stuff. But most of the takeaways could have been condensed into a long blog post on Medium.
With the war in Ukraine still raging, though it is becoming a dull roar in the background (with the media coverage), the events in that part of the world could still impact our daily lives. Which is why I think that books like this, which help us control our inner world when so much is out of our control, are important these days. Do I think waking up at 5AM, journaling, meditating, and intense exercise will help you manage difficult emotions? Yes, and the very act of getting out of bed (and not pressing the snooze button on your phone) is you firing the first salvo in the AM against any resistance towards accomplishing your goals.
Could this book have been shorter? Yes, but it is a charming story, and while not so believable, I did like the use of modern-day archetypes for the protagonists in the story. So TDLR, set your alarm for 5AM, and no need to be dogmatic about the actual routine, but having some kind of intentional morning routine will help you win the day… and elevate your life.
Key Takeaways:
⚪️ Life hacks: Journaling, meditating, and exercising, truly the best things in life are free.
⚪️ Eat the frog: My personal pro tip is to get the hardest task done first thing in the AM… this sets up incredible momentum for the day.
⚪️ Now more than ever: If we don’t embrace healthy habits life is going to steam roll us.
