Welcome back YKC community … a month into 2021, and we are in that grey area of the messy middle. From Israel to the US the numbers of infected are still sky-high, and while I tend to be an optimist, maybe anticipating things will calm down by spring is premature. This is a marathon, not a sprint. But we’ll get there.
The beginning of 2021 is a good time for a professional update.
I’m excited to share that I’m taking on a full-time role with Atento Capital. The scope of my work isn’t just going to be focused on helping Israeli companies hire in Tulsa, but New York/East Coast as well.
So, if you’re an Israeli or NY based growth stage tech company, and looking to hire highly skilled remote talent, or open an office in a growing ecosystem on the ascent reach out to me directly. You can learn more here

What I'm reading
What I'm reading
The Art of Impossible: A Peak Performance Primer by Steven Kotler: As an aspirational high-agency individual I broke my rule of no more business books in order to see if I could learn something on the edges from this author. I was a fan of his last book, Stealing Fire, but in general I feel these types of business/personal development books should be called Elon Musk Lit… maybe a must read for the Silicon Valley set, but not the rest of us normals.
Entering a flow state is a real thing, and can even be a source of daily joy with habits such as writing or working out, but striving for the impossible is not for most people. Sometimes ‘good enough’ is good enough, considering the competition. Most of the people who would be drawn to reading this book would have already understood the ‘stack’ outlined in the book of “curiosity, passion, purpose, and autonomy”, and are probably executing against these ideas without thinking about them. Good tip however on to-do lists as noted by the author, I was dogmatic about 5 major items a day on my list, but he states he can get 8 done. Maybe I am not pushing myself to the impossible just yet :)
What I do think is important to note however, is that we certainly underutilize our gifts and potential. What it takes sometimes is a sense of urgency or a major goal to trigger that. 2021 and as we strive to overcome this pandemic may be the time.
Key Takeaways:
⚪️ The basics needed to optimize: Exercise, sleep, stress management, etc. sad that most people don’t follow this.
⚪️Don’t share your goals: Bucking common wisdom you’re robbing yourself of the dopamine hit when you accomplish said goal.
⚪️There is a formula or stack for everything: The most Silicon Valley idea ever, but it’s part of mainstream culture now.
