Ghosting, icing and simmering: the cruel world of dating in 2016: Yes, it can be spooky more than scary. Sadly there are more robust definitions and stages of ghosting (ex., icing, simmering). For anyone who is single and on the apps in 2016/7 they’ve encountered this before (either as a perpetrator or as a victim, though I don’t like using that term). I know personally many couples who have met thru the apps, and while online dating might be a net positive, we still haven’t grasped the implications of this form of courtship on society (though much research is currently being conducted). No matter how you cut it being rejected hurts, in fact, emotional and physical pain activate similar brain regions.
Very topical, great analysis by Ester Perel on Relationship Accountability and a nice bonus to hear her on Tim Ferriss’s recent podcast. You can hear her speak live below.
And tying it all together without going down the rabbit hole of dating Aziz Ansari’s Modern Romance is the tome for millennial romance (as well as being the voice of a generation).

Josh brings years of experience, hunger, and drive that would align well with the needs of a startup at this stage. You can contact him at:
Great Technical Co-Founder Opportunity (Mapping, Geolocation, App Development) w/Highly Experienced Founder:
My friend Josh Futterman, an 8x founder who has served as principal mentor for Techstars and a number of other top global accelerators, is looking for a talented technical co-founder with mapping, geolocation, database development, and software security expertise for his new start-up. His goal is lofty – cut driving time and traffic in these cities by as much as 20%, substantially reduce traffic accidents and pollution and create friendlier, more connected neighborhoods. You can reach out to Josh at
Headspace: Life changing. Some days I feel like as if I’m staring over the edge because of anxiety and overwhelm. I choose to own it and tackle it head-on with meditation, journaling, and an intense exercise routine so this app is a game changer as it works into my life. As the website states: “A few minutes could change your whole day”, or your whole life. This article best describes the experience. Bonus: MindFi is a meditation app you can use with your eyes open, experimenting with it now
Spirituality is the next performance enhancer. Yoga became a competitive sport and now meditation is going thru its own Soulcycle phase. After nutrition (sleep, diet, exercise) and psychological analysis (self-development), I believe spirituality will increasingly come into play as the performance enhancer. Faith, no matter what your belief is has historically been the ultimate motivator.
