Summer classes for kids and teens are rolling out! I just got to pack up my first materials kit and it was so fun to put it together!
This summer I’m collaborating with Linn-Benton Community College and The Arts Center to make summer art HAPPEN for kids and teens in the Willamette Valley. Check these out!

In this class, kids 8 - 13 will write and draw their own comic, with tips and challenges to build skills and make amazing art!

Drawing practice for kids 8 - 13, will techniques for pencil drawing, line art, drawing from a reference, and real-world study.

So, this is VERY cool… LBCC and Greater Albany Public School District teamed up this summer to offer FREE classes for teens in Linn and Benton Counties!! I have the privilege of hosting two classes, including this fast-paced expressive drawing class that is PERFECT for a teen who is serious about building their drawing skills. Sign up soon! De-Mechanizing Art Class

The next class I’m offering with LBCC is an experimental Art class where the students will find expression in writing, theatre, visual arts and the power of taking over. Inspired by the work of Augusto Boal and the Theatre of the Oppressed, this class is all about examining and reshaping reality.

At The Arts Center, I am offering a series of classes that students can use to create and explore their own worlds! These classes can be taken together or seperately.

In Story Makers, students will write and illustrate their own stories, practicing with promts and novel-writing beats used by professional writers. We’re talking character flaws, conflicts, adventure and growth!

With Game Design, students can bring their stories to life with art, crafting, and probability math! They’ll design a board or card-based game using dice-rolling statistics to lead their friends through a world of adventure!

Students will mold their own creations in Monster Makers camp! They can make game pieces for their game, or creations to hide in their gardens or keep in their pocket. We’ll practice techniques with polymer clay to build our little creatues!
