Security | Life | Cynicism
Wait, what, it’s Monday already? Those were the first words that went through my head as I dragged myself out of bed this morning. I usually enjoy Mondays and look forward to starting the week fresh with all these ideas of how productive and happy I’m going to be.
The fact that I’m already 4 hours behind on life, and approximately 7,245 hours behind on sleep doesn’t bode well.
You can put away your tiny violins, I’m not looking for sympathy. The only reason I write this newsletter is to get free advice - far cheaper than going to an actual therapist!

Security
One of my previous colleagues from the days when I was at the company formerly known as AlienVault, Russ Spitler is capturing his thoughts in blog posts. Russ has been in the industry for many years and is a smart and pragmatic person. Check out his musings over at Nudge Security where he has accessible articles providing security advice, children’s safety, and what to do when hacked.
You may be thinking, “But where are the APT’s” and to that I say, “APT’s, we don’t need no stinkin’ APT’s” - Well, we do, but what we really need is more people making security accessible to the masses, and I think this is a good blog to do so.
Also, check out the latest episode of the Jerichshow where I spoke to Mohammed Aldoub on API and Cloud security. The man is a wealth of knowledge - I learnt so much from our discussion.
Life
I was revisiting some Bruce Lee over the weekend and was reminded of this quote: “If you spend too long thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done.”
What’s something you’ve spent far too long thinking about?
Cynicism
After the failure of the Facebook Phone, get ready for a Facebook Watch. Sigh… some people just want to watch the world burn!
