A midweek update for week 261 and 262 at LABS. This first weeks are always filled with new years drinks of all kind. Online Tuesday, Stimuleringsfonds, Fraiday, Amsterdam Smart City, The Next Web, were the ones I attended. And more events like Design Thinking Amsterdam (my first time), Labfest Amsterdam Creative Industries Network, Interactive Storytelling Meetup.
So far for the evenings. The first week was also dedicated to making plans for 2017. For LABS, for ThingsCon, for Behavior Design AMS, HvA projects. And with Dries I discussed some interesting ideas on events and projects.
The students of Mobile Development finished their explorations in making Reactive Native app, and the Minor IoT delivered their final working prototype of the haptic wristband at Labfest. Dirk graduated with his research on market possibilities for TaSST. And the BIT Students finished their final sprint for the algoritmic software layer of the same TaSST. Quite an achievement in developing the fundament for a working prototype. The protoyping cycles design approach of Sietse made us test an iteration of his connected bbq.
We had an update of the Co-ReUS project. And I finalise the organisation for the next ThingsCon Salon together with Aduen and Gijs. This Friday during Fashionweek you can stop by and learn all on new fashion and intimate interface using new technologies. At the moment of writing only a couple of tickets are available.
The news was of course dominated by the inauguration and the craziness in the States of Trump. Lots of analysis of course on his moves and strategies, every day. One of the things happened of course was the so called ‘alternate facts’ on the crowds at the inauguration.

Scott Smith on Twitter: "@iskandr imagine Sean Spicer using Adobe Voco to change press briefings."
