We typically create our pre-recorded episodes on Sundays at approximate 11am MST (remember, Nancy is in Phoenix, and Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings of any kind).
We recently began testing Zoom to record our episodes, as Zencastr was having some hiccups that were causing headaches. Ideally we’ll be able to use different platforms to accommodate different situations, ideally taking advantage of open source software of course.
We have discussed this several times, the notion of a live stream with listener chat and perhaps a drop-in component where listeners to the live stream could join in directly as pop-up guests.
Our website game has been on hold as we develop the show and as we ideate on how to include our listeners while we attempt to attract more listeners. Participation is key, whether it’s passive listening or active discussion, and we’re hoping to bring all of this together on our own self-hosted platform.
Once we move to consolidate our publications (podcast, newsletters, other stuff) to our self-hosted origin, we’ll continue to publish podcasts to Anchor.fm and newsletters to Substack and Revue, and these will be secondary. Think of them as backups, or alternates, with the primary at our website. Stay tuned for that…
