Loyola stays atop Super 25 ahead of matchup vs. No. 3 Brother Rice

High School Sports Weekly
Good morning,
Good news is on the way this week. High school sports is returning to local television soon. It’s been forever (working on getting the exact date) since a local basketball or football game was televised.
I should be getting Weigel Broadcasting’s schedule later today. The Game of the Week will return to The U this season. I’d imagine there will be plenty of CCL/ESCC matchups and hopefully a suburban game or two as well.

Every week of the season is revealing a bit more of the complete picture. That’s the way the season is supposed to work and the schedule-makers are helping us out. Week 4 should provide a lot of answers. There are four games featuring Super 25 teams squaring off and some other excellent matchups including Providence at Joliet Catholic and undefeated Glenbrook South at Barrington.
Fenwick (2-1) drops out this week after losing to the Celtics. New Trier is out after losing to the Broncos.
Barrington pops back into the rankings, as does another preseason ranked team, Hinsdale Central. The Red Devils picked up a nice win against Lyons.
1. Loyola (3-0) 1
2. Maine South (3-0) 2
3. Brother Rice (3-0) 4
4. Marist (3-0) 5
5. Joliet Catholic (3-0) 6

Team of the week: Marmion Cadets
Marmion Football
Big win for the Cadets tonight!!!

Marmion 27 - Montini 10

Three cheers for the good guys!!! #WeAreMA

Marmion coach Dan Thorpe’s gutsy decision to go for it on fourth down late in the game on Friday paid off and the Cadets knocked off Montini to improve to 3-0. Senior quarterback Daniel Chung and senior running back Anthony Kuceba pulled off the key plays.
Marmion beat McNamara in W1 and Lake View in W2. Up next is a big challenge at home against St. Ignatius.
