🎬 Resending: Golden Globes predictions

🎬 Resending: Golden Globes predictions
By Eric Johnson • Issue #48 • View online

When I wrote yesterday’s newsletter, my computer told me that ➡️ and ➡ were different emojis, which would make it easy to tell what I was picking for the Golden Globes and what I actually thought would win.
So here’s how I thought my predictions would show up:
But, on lots of devices, those two arrows are actually the same emoji, which made that section of the newsletter unnecessarily confusing. Yay, technology!
So I’m resending the Golden Globes section of the newsletter here, with a 👉 emoji to indicate what I think the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will pick on Sunday. ➡️ still refers to what I picked, and an asterisk still means I haven’t seen the movie yet.
Sorry for the double email!
Oh, and Also...
There’s one other thing I meant to include in yesterday’s newsletter, besides readable emojis. This is not movie-related, but I had a speaking role on the podcast I produce for work — Recode Decode with Kara Swisher — last Monday. It’s a fun episode where we talk about our favorite moments from the podcast in 2019 and I hope you’ll check it out! Click here to listen on Apple Podcasts, or click here to listen on Spotify. If you listen on another app, just search for Recode Decode and scroll back a couple episodes to the one titled “Best of 2019.”
OK, enough of that. Here are those corrected Golden Globes predictions …
