Weekly Remarks:
**“We are going through the most radical transformation the world has ever seen and people are justly terrified, excited, depressed, heartbroken and hopeful, all at once.” Heather Marsh
**Marie Curie said: “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”
**Covid-19 has and will continue to change the world we live in. Video conferencing, remote work, social distancing and other major changes in our lives are not going away. We have all suffered from anxiety due to the pandemic and many of us have also been hugely impacted by the recent senseless violence in our province and the heavy toll that the virus has taken on our seniors. the most vulnerable segment of our population. It has been hard for all of us to concentrate on work and to actually get things done. We are now seeing some openings and we all hope that things will continue to improve over time but please continue to take the proper precautions (social distancing, washing, masks, etc.). The better we follow the guidelines the less impact the next wave will have!
**We will continue to provide key links where all involved in startups and business in general can find out information to help them survive and grow in these trying times:
**To see the most up to date information on federal plans that are available:
**For startups and businesses looking for more information on funding as well as great webinars and podcasts covering startup related issues or for general help with your business go to or
**Startups by older Canadians have a much higher success rate than younger entrepreneurs. They are, in fact more than twice as likely to start a business which survives for more than 5 years. However senior entrepreneurs get virtually no support from governments, banks and the community. If you are 50+ and looking to start a business, join the video event “Getting Started” on the 27th to hear from a panel of experts discussing how to get going!
**For a variety of events aimed at supporting businesses in these trying times check out the Digital Nova Scotia website:
