Grant's Newsletter (BIP, Network, Education)

Happy Friday!
Here are three things I’ve been thinking about this week:

1. June Update
I sent out Taptive’s June “Build In Public” update on Twitter.
It’s been fun to share more of what I’m building with these updates.
In June, we launched a new cohort and prepared for 4 more.

Here are some wins, some setbacks, and what's been top of mind in the past month.

2. The Network State
Balaji Srinivasan’s new book, The Network State, came out this week. I’ve read through about 25% of it so far — it’s a fascinating read.
One of my biggest takeaways — online communities will become even more important than they are today.
Balaji’s writing heavily influences me, so I’m not surprised that I agree with his emphasis on online communities.
But, if Balaji is directionally correct with this idea, it will support Taptive’s approach to working with online communities.

3. Education
Education is one of the most important problems for our society to solve.

I believe that technology can help create high-quality, accessible education.
Here’s my view on how Taptive can help improve education:
My approach to improving education:

➤ We learn by doing
➤ But, doing things is hard
➤ So, build programs that help people to do more
➤ And focus on core, widely-applicable skills (like writing)
Thank you for reading!
Have a great weekend and talk to you next week.
