Grant's Newsletter (✍️, 🎉, 💰)

Happy Friday!
Here are 3 things on my mind this week:

1. Business Writing ✍️
I’ve been writing about writing a lot over the past few years. However, until recently, I didn’t realize there was a name for the type of writing I was describing.
Business writing is writing used to effectively communicate in a professional setting.
I believe this type of writing most closely aligns with the writing that we publish in our cohorts.
I further define business writing along with some tips in the post below.
Use Business Writing To Advance Your Career
2. Algorizin's Celebration Meetup 🎉
We had our Celebration Meetup this week to close out Algorizin’s Industry Exposure Series.
The Celebration Meetups are always a bittersweet moment of the experience. The cohort always ends too early, but the Celebration Meetup allows us to reflect on our progress and wins.
Personally, I love to hear stories of the conversations and impact that writing has led to during the cohort. Also, I love the feeling of pride from writers that comes with completing a cohort.
Congratulations to two champions from the cohort:
🏆 Cohort Champion: Jewel Banik. Read Jewel’s Writing.
💬 Feedback Champion. Abrar Hussain. Read Abrar’s Writing.
3. Learning from Lyn Alden
Lyn Alden is the Founder of Lyn Alden Investment Strategy and a renowned writer and investor.
I broke down Alden’s essay, The Importance of Price Signals, to help you become a better business writer.
Here are the 3 takeaways:
  1. Answer “So What” Early
  2. Avoid Jargon
  3. Use Narratives Over Numbers
