Weekly roundup of news from the golf world.

Hello all, and welcome back! Figured at this point if you’re not following along on twitter (which you all should be), I’d send the first email in a while out here with all the course reviews I’ve written from the past year. Instead of commenting on each link I’m posting below about how great each course is, I’ll just let you click on each review to see what I have to say. Also a note, all the courses below are fantastic, and if they weren’t, I wouldn’t have written a review!
Another note, there’ll be more than a few reviews yet to come before the end of the year, including Pinehurst #2 from the US Four Ball, Riv and Bel-Air from the US Am, and Sand Valley from the one day trip up there a couple days ago. So watch out for those in the somewhat near future.
Here we go.

Trinity Forest — Coore & Crenshaw in Texas | Golf On The Mind
I’ve said before that to be a cool kid in the golfing world, all you need to do is talk about all the Coore & Crenshaw designed courses you’ve played in your life. And last week, a couple other of the GOTM guys (and gal) and me made it down to Dallas for a post-Christmas golf…

World Woods — Odd name, worth the trip | Golf On The Mind
In general, all Florida courses are the same – they’re flat, have mini lakes everywhere with cattails everywhere, and they have houses on all sides of every hole. World Woods is not like that. The club is based an hour north of Tampa, meaning that the land is as hilly as a course in North Carolina. There are a…

Streamsong Red — The Colors of the Wind Part 1 | Golf On The Mind
it good MD Mueller Don’t be confused by the title of this post because the courses at Streamsong Resort have nothing to do with Pocahontas. But the courses there have colors as names (Blue and Red), and when Mike and I played there recently it was super windy thanks to a cold front coming through. Also, GOTM went…

Streamsong Blue — The Colors of the Wind Part 2 | Golf On The Mind
Part two of the Pocahontas themed review of Streamsong Golf Resort! If you’re just seeing this for the first time, I suggest you go back to part 1 and read that first so you can read about the Red course and how we spent the morning at Streamsong. With that being said, I’m going to just…

We-Ko-Pa Review Part 1 — Saguaro, which is a word that took me so long to learn how to spell. | Golf On The Mind
The Phoenix area has plenty of 36 hole resort courses – Troon North, Greyhawk, Talking Stick, and in this case We-Ko-Pa. And if you’re in the area looking to pick one to spend a 36 hole day at, I can’t totally suggest which one to make tee times at, but playing a full day at We-Ko-Pa will…

Pinehurst #8 — Course Review — Not Hashtag 8, but Number 8 | Golf On The Mind
i’ve completely forgotten that course having only been out there once i remember 16 is uphill from running that laser up to the group in front lol - Grant Freitag, friend, and caddie for the week Ahh the US Four Ball. We got lucky this past year for this the tournament. First was that our…

Tobacco Road Review — The Most Enjoyable Course I’ve Ever Played | Golf On The Mind
When you go to the Tobacco Road website, you see a beautiful, sunrise picture of the par 3 8th green, the fairway of the par 4 9th hole in the background, and the following quote: “HIGHLY DECORATED NEVER DUPLICATED.” When talking about my favorite golf courses, I always tell people that the only feature that…
