“It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” - Steve Jobs

Hello.
A few weeks ago I sat down with Will Hudson, co-founder of It’s Nice That and Lecture In Progress, on a snowy London evening at the General Assembly London campus.  Due to the snow, quite a few people we not able to make it but fortunately, we were able to record it.
Will shared with us some of his biggest learnings of growing a business that started as a University project and now employs over 30 people and works with some of the worlds coolest creative brands!
*Apologies - some of the questions are hard to hear but Will’s answers are great!*
It was a great conversation and we covered A LOT of ground.
Some of the highlights;
⏲Ruthless prioritization! We discussed how as your role grows your ability to let go and focus on key tasks will make or break you..
❌Power of saying ‘No’; Will and I both shared our challenge in getting better at saying 'No’ when all you want to say is 'Yes!’
🤔 Mentors, Will often refers to using mentorship from the early days until now. Starting with advice from his dad that they still live by to date!
💸 Hiring senior talent; a struggle a lot of managers face, especially founders. This topic has inspired me to write a post about it - coming soon.
