“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.” - Dr. Brené Brown

Hello sunshine!
When I started my executive coaching certification back in 2011, coaching in business was still a relatively new concept. It was usually used for under/over performing leaders as a way to cure a problem not to prevent it. Fast forward seven years later and it has been amazing for me to watch coaching become such a big part of the business dialogue. Unsurprisingly, I am a huuuuuuge coaching advocate and encourage everyone to find one.
In this podcast, I chat to Kate Rees, who has gone from agile coach to team coach to individual coach. Kate shares with us some very powerful messages about growth and performance and how what underpins it is the ability for people to feel vulnerable.
Some of my key takeaways;
🦋Feeling uncomfortable about doing something? Just do it! Push through the fear and remember everyone is dealing with their own imposter syndrome. “Everything you want is on the other side of fear” - Jack Canfield
❌ A coach empowers people to work out their own problems/challenges, they do not jump in and fix it!
🤔 Creating empathy amongst teams is enabled by getting people to see each other as ‘human beings’ instead of 'job titles’ and responsibilities. [See] Johari window
