Online business inspiration ๐Ÿ’Œ

September 1 · Issue #12 · View online

I'm curating a monthly newsletter about online business. Don't miss it, it's free.

Whatโ€™s new in online business? Every first Sunday of the month youโ€™ll receive new inspiration in your inbox ๐Ÿ’Œ.
This month weโ€™ll read interesting things about automation (again), emotions and writing compelling content.

Automation. I wrote about it a couple of times before.
A great service that safes me tons of time is IFTTT (If This Then That). You can connect hundreds services with this tool to automate stuff.
I have attached some examples for iOS users, like automatically backing up Facebook photos to Dropbox when you are tagged, syncing contacts data to Google Spreadsheets or creating calendar events when you set reminders.

Whether they realise it or not, people always make decisions based on their feelings. This includes your users.
Thatโ€™s why emotion is the best ingredient for good content. This article gives you nine hooks on how to write effective content.

Do you know what โ€œno-signupโ€ stands for? This means you give users the ability to use your tool as much as possible without having to create an account.
This is a huge conversion booster I found via @ajlknโ€™s tweet and applied in my Personal User Guide product.

Can confirm: no-signup is extremely effective (if it makes sense for your app)

Few people are willing to commit to something new/unknown sight unseen, and creating an account (even if's free and only requires them to enter an email address) feels like a commitment
How to learn writing โœ๐Ÿผ
Julian is an infamous guy that writes free extended guides about interesting topics like building muscle and growth marketing.
Recently he launched a new guide about learning to write. Although I didnโ€™t completely read it yet, I can already tell you this is going to have value for you.

The indie hacker mindset ๐Ÿง
Everyone wants to be independent and in my opinion everyone should always be trying to set up a side project to become more antifragile (read that book if you didnโ€™t yet).
Lรฉo Baecker is an indie maker since a few years and in this article he sums up quite accurately what your mindset should be.
