Do you ever feel like you’re so worn out you don’t know how you’ll possibly make it through another day of work/life? Like so tired your brain feelings like mush?
That’s how I’ve been feeling for months. Between wedding planning, working, and keeping up with my Ask Gigi blog, it’s been a lot. Now that the wedding is over, I am ready for a vacation.
True vacationing is something we sort of believe in as a culture, but don’t really. How many of you have checked your email at least once a day when on a trip? I sure have. I’m in Spain for the next few weeks, and I’m giving myself permission to relax.
At least for this first week! I know I’ll end up doing a few hours of work in the mornings, but I have to give myself room to breathe, lie by the pool, unwind, and enjoy myself. I’m committed to giving myself most of the day totally off. I’ve been so tense that my arthritic hip is acting up from being constantly clenched! I’m going to read the books I’ve only half-finished, sip champagne, swim, and take in the sea air.
This week’s mantras:
- I will remove my tongue from the roof of my mouth, unclench my shoulders, relax my chest, and take five deep breaths when I’m feeling overwhelmed.
- I will take 5 minutes each day to look at the world around me and take in the natural beauty.
- I will love myself.
