I’ve been struggling with a lot of anxiety recently.
Being back into my routine in Chicago along with some things in my personal life have me quite off-kilter. Sometimes anxiety can make you feel like you’re trapped in a corner with no room to breathe. When people you love are at the center of your pain, it can feel like you have no one to turn to – making it all the more difficult to cope with everything. When you feel out of control of a situation and have no way to change that, what do you do?
It’s hard to be creative, get anything finished, or really feel sane and comfortable. If you’re struggling with anxiety, it’s OK. I’m here for you. I am you. Take a moment to breathe. I find listening to classical music and free-writing helps me calm my mind. Sometimes I write down everything that’s going well in my life to give me some perspective. Sometimes I just take a Xanax and a bath.
Still, even with every coping mechanism under the sun, sometimes everything is terrible.
