I'm a technology evangelist at Red Hat where I deal with topics such as containers, DevOps, cloud strategy, and IoT. Those will be the primary focus of this newsletter but I'll also use it to highlight generally interesting links and to provide updates on my comings and goings. Blog: http://bitmason.blogspot.com

I’ll be heading off next week for DevOpsDays Silicon Valley followed by Red Hat Summit in San Francisco. I’m track chair for IT Strategy at Red Hat Summit. I’ll be presenting with Todd Barr of Ansible by Red Hat on Getting Started with DevOps. I’ll also be co-moderating a Birds of a Feather session on How to Know if Your DevOps is Working with my colleague William Henry. Another colleague, Thomas Cameron, will be an MC as well as giving a number of always great technical sessions.
I hope to see lots of folks in California. In addition to sessions I mentioned, I’ll be at a couple of industry analyst events.
After Summit, I’ll be headed to the Maine coast for a week and then off to Japan to speak at LinuxCon. I’ll be on stage with William Henry again talking about “Fail Fast, Fail Often.” Afterwards, I’ll be taking some a week off in Japan.
I’m still working on what happens the next couple of months after that but one of my goals is to expand The New Platform: You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet presentation that I gave at Cloud Expo into (shortish) book format. I’ve been kicking around ideas in this vein for a while but I’ve gotten to the point where, perhaps foolishly, I think the general form of next generation computing platforms is taking shape sufficiently to pin it down long enough to write about it.
